Westcoast Swing
West Coast Swing is a smooth and versatile partner dance that evolved from the Lindy Hop, characterized by its slotted movement and emphasis on improvisation. It is danced to a wide range of music genres, from blues and jazz to contemporary pop and R&B, making it highly adaptable and enjoyable for various musical tastes.
We are fortunate to have Stephen White, a long time professional WCS instructor, to teach weekly lessons and mentor students with social dance techniques through a guided practica. Join us for an immersive experience in the art of West Coast Swing!

FAQ:
Q: I have very little dance experience, can I join the 101/102 classes?
A: Yes definitely! Start with WCS 101 first if you have very little dance experience. WCS 102 is for students who have completed 101 or have had prior experience with the dance. 101 and 102 series rotate on a monthly basis.
Q: What’s the difference between 101 and 102?
Our 101 and 102 classes are part of a rotating monthly series, starting the first week of each month. These classes alternate every month, meaning you can begin in either 101 or 102, as the order of completion doesn’t affect your progress.
To advance to the next level (120), students must complete two full months in the 101/102 rotation. This ensures that you’ve built a solid foundation before moving on.
Q: I have experience with Westcoast Swing, can I drop-in for the 120 or 250 class?
A: Yes absolutely. Drop-in classes are welcomed for 120 or 250 classes. Please speak to the instructors after class to receive feedback regarding your level.
