ZOUK

Zouk dance is a sensual and flowing partner dance that originated in Brazil, characterized by its smooth, wave-like movements and close connection between partners. Danced to rhythmic and melodic Zouk music, it emphasizes body isolation, fluid transitions, and dramatic hair whips. Taking Zouk will not only enhance your dance skills and musicality but also provide a unique way to connect with others, express yourself creatively, and immerse yourself in a vibrant dance community. Don’t miss the chance to discover the flowing elegance of Zouk!

Each month we focus on a specific topic or challenge to work towards. For example, in April, we explored foundational elements of Brazilian Zouk head movement as well as building a repoitore of exercises that we can use to strengthen our balance and technique. Throughout the series, we added different components and concepts on top of body movements that pave the path to incorporating head movement technique anywhere!
