IWe’re thrilled to introduce a Beginner Tango Series starting this January 2025! Join us for Tango 101 in January and Tango 102 in February. These month-long courses are designed to build your tango fundamentals and demystify this elegant partner dance!

  • Tango 101: Jan 9 - 30 Thursdays 6:30PM - 7:30PM

  • Tango 102: Feb 6-27 Thursdays 6:30PM - 7:30PM

  • Note: Tango 101 and 102 are independent series, meaning you can take them in any order. Each series is one month long and focuses on tango fundamentals. While the two series share some overlapping material to reinforce key concepts, each introduces unique elements to deepen your understanding and skills. Repeating the series is highly encouraged to solidify your fundamentals, build confidence, and refine your technique.

Both series cover essential elements of Argentine tango, providing a strong foundation while introducing unique skills in each series.

Tango Beginner Series

  • Establishing a connection with your partner and understanding individual and partner axes.

  • Mastering the foundational tango walk with intention and fluidity.

  • Exploring the 8-count basic, linear patterns, and pivots.

  • Introducing musicality and tempo changes.

  • Deepening your understanding of parallel and cross systems.

  • Refining navigation and floor craft for seamless social dancing.

  • Adding flair with new classic figures and musical timing variations.

INSTRUCTOR BIO

Greg Rolnick
Greg’s dance journey began in ballet and modern dance in San Francisco, where he toured and performed across the U.S. and Europe. His passion for Argentine tango ignited in 1997 when Fabian Salas taught at the Century Ballroom, and since then, Greg has taught and performed in California, New York, Hawaii, Canada, and Mexico. Influenced by iconic instructors like Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes, Chicho Frumboli and Juana Sepulveda, and Fernando Sanchez and Ariadna Naveira, Greg’s teaching emphasizes relaxed, centered, and grounded movement that deepens connection with partners and music. He believes in learning with joy, creativity, and a sense of discovery.

Blair Kaufer
Blair discovered tango at a university club ten years ago and was immediately transformed by its depth and complexity. Drawn to the intricate music and the grounding feeling tango brings, she has since refined her style under the guidance of professional instructors. A dance instructor since 2018, Blair finds joy in helping students uncover their own path in tango, fostering freedom and creativity in their dance vocabulary.
