Latin Dance Kids Weekly Class

KIDS LATIN DANCE

At Baila District, we specialize in Latin dance styles such as salsa, bachata, merengue, and more. We love seeing our young dancers curious and excelling in various dance forms. Our classes include movement, stretching, tumbling, and other dance techniques, as well as teaching dancer etiquette such as respect, discipline, and kindness. Each session, we work on one or two choreographies that the students will present at our end-of-session showcase. The younger and older kids often start together with warm-ups and drills, and in some cases they are divided into two groups for individual dance routines.

What to expect:

• Dance fundamentals training

• Introduction to Latin-style music and dance

• Choreography to one or two songs

• Performance at the end of the session at friends & family showcase

DRESS CODE:

• Wear comfortable cloth with long pants to allow floor movements.

• Jazz shoes will be required in black. Example here.

• Team shirt will be required for our Fall and Spring sessions. Shirts are priced at around $30 per shirt.

• Costumes for showcase will be required. Pricing ~$50-80. Instructors will communicate costume requirements closer to showcase.

GOAL:

• Our aim is to provide a safe, fun and comfortable space for children to dance, move their body, play with rhythm and learn latin style movements.
