BIOGRAPHY: Ernesto & Denisse

Straight out of New York, Ernesto and Denisse are redefining the salsa scene with their exceptional talent and passion. Specializing in Salsa On2, this dynamic duo brings a unique blend of styles and an infectious energy to every performance.

Ernesto 'El Watusi' Bulnes, originally from Honduras and raised in Miami, has crafted a distinctive style through extensive training in various dance disciplines. In 2011, he founded Potencia Latina Dance, where his encouraging approach helps students shine on the dance floor. Formerly a principal dancer with the Yamulee Dance Company under Osmar Perrones, Ernesto continues to expand his skills by training with top instructors and performers.

Denisse Cambria, born in Miami with Argentinean roots, is a renowned salsa dancer known for her contributions to the Florida salsa community. Her impressive resume includes teaching and performing with prestigious companies like Shaka Brown, Jayson Molina, and Salsa Mia. Denisse’s competition experience includes a notable performance at the ESPN World Salsa Championships with Alfredo DiNatale. She further honed her skills in Milan with Euphoria Dance Company before joining Yamulee Dance Company in New York. Denisse now enriches her craft with Ernesto and the New York Movement Competition team.

Together, Ernesto and Denisse are the founders and directors of Irôko Dance Company based in Tampa, FL. Their company merges Afro-Cuban elements with New York Mambo, elevating salsa dancing to new heights. With their growing team of students and dancers, they continue to spread their love for dance and drive their mission to make a significant impact in the dance community.
